MGM is at the forefront of advanced glass manufacturing technology with our fully integrated Vacuum Insulating Glass Production Line. This sophisticated line is designed for the serial production of vacuum insulated glass (VIG), the ultimate solution for superior thermal and acoustic performance. VIG units, with their near-perfect vacuum cavity between two glass panes, achieve thermal insulation levels far beyond traditional double or triple glazing, with U-values potentially lower than 0.4 W/m²K.
Our automated line meticulously handles the complex and critical steps of VIG manufacturing. It begins with precision washing and drying to ensure optically perfect, contaminant-free glass substrates. The subsequent stages involve the automated placement of minute support pillars and the application of a special low-temperature solder glass frit around the perimeter. The line then performs the crucial assembly under a controlled environment before the panels enter the heart of the system: the vacuum sealing furnace. This furnace heats the unit in a vacuum chamber to hermetically seal the edges while simultaneously evacuating the internal cavity to an ultra-high vacuum. Advanced leak detection and getter activation systems are integrated to guarantee the long-term vacuum integrity and service life of the unit, which can exceed 50 years. By automating this highly precise process, MGM's production line makes the commercial-scale manufacturing of VIG a reality, enabling window and facade manufacturers to produce the most energy-efficient glazing available. This technology is key for achieving net-zero energy buildings and meeting the most demanding architectural specifications for sustainability and comfort.
